One of our long time standard types. The name evolved after the U.K. and Argentina had a little spat over who owned this remote island ‘nation’ off the coast of Argentina back when Maggie Thatcher was the British Prime Minister. Our long-time British wool supplier had represented the Falkland Company and we took delight in our story. Today this product is primarily sourced domestically from the best combination of white wool sheep, including breeds like Corriedale, Montvale and Columbia. While it is increasingly difficult to rely solely on domestic sources for supply, the wool is processed 100% in the United States from raw fleece to combed top at one of the last domestic industrial wool combing plants that is still in operation This is widely used by dyers and mid-weight felt or yarn applications.
