We had our super short fine black open top carded into sliver, blended with some grey mill ends to make it long enough to successfully card.

The resulting product is superfine (~19 mic) and a lovely dark charcoal color with some silver grey streaks. Staple length 1-2 inches.

Black is notoriously tough to photograph – this product is quite dark, but the photo on the brown bench shows grey undertones.

Fiber was rescued from a local mill – we only have about ~100 lbs and once it’s gone, it’s gone!
